New Berserk Movie Trailer
November 2nd, 2011 by John This is what we’ve been waiting ten years for? A new theatrical trailer for next year’s Berserk Golden Age Arc I: Egg of the Supreme Ruler motion picture has hit the web. The first film of a planned trilogy based on Kentaro Miura’s dark fantasy manga will open theatrically on February 4.
The CG is so terrible that it frequently looks like mediocre amateur rendering. The 2D animation looks nice and sometimes moves very fluidly, but Guts’ head turn at 1:06 is terrible, and the one at 1:15 isn’t much better. At least scenes like Guts’ sword swing at 1:32 to 1:34 is very fluid, as is the hand motion at 1:38. I still vividly get the impression that a lot of this footage is left-over test footage that 4°C produced several years ago and decided to use instead of re-animating.
